§ 14-127. Building inspector to develop plans for inspections.

  • The building inspector is hereby authorized and directed to develop and adopt plans for the inspection of dwelling units subject to the provisions of this article, including:

    (1)

    A plan for the periodic inspection of multiple dwellings and roominghouses.

    (2)

    A plan for the systematic inspection of dwelling units contained in such contiguous areas within this city as may from time to time be designated by the building inspector.

    (3)

    A plan for the inspection of each apartment or room in a multiple dwelling or roominghouse unit for each time the apartment or room is relet or rerented. There shall be no fee for this inspection. It is the responsibility of the owner or his agent to notify the building inspector prior to the reletting or rerenting of an apartment or room in order that the inspection may be completed. Failure of the owner or agent to notify the building inspector upon rerenting or reletting or to refuse to allow the inspection to be completed shall subject the owner or agent or both to the penalties provided in section 1-15 of this Code.
